Dear Laurie and family:
I was saddened to learn only today of Kenny's passing.We go back a long way, to Pilam at Brooklyn College in the early '60's. Kenny was a couple of years older and probably the coolest guy on campus, with the primo Friday night gig as host at Wolfie's, then the hottest eatery on campus, a coveted job that encouraged favoritism to one's fraternity brothers and other friends. He passed that job along to me, an honor in which I still bask. Years later, we renewed our friendship from time to time at the subterranean Club Le Raquette of which I was a member when he stayed at the Parker Meridien hotel with you and the family on his frequent visits to New York, this in addition to the wonderfully nostalgic Pilam reunions here in New York over the years. Kenny was a fantastic guy, opinionated as all hell, but great for me since I most often agreed with those well-studied and passionate positions. My heart goes out to you, Laurie, and to your entire family.

I was a patiant of Dr. Wortman for many years and, he always made me feel very comfortable. A true professional.

Laurie- Please  accept my condolences on Ken"s passing. I moved to Las Vegas and was out of touch with people in Florida. I just found this out recently.

Kenny, as I knew him, was a very unique man. He always made me feel welcome. Always interested in what was going on in my life/family. He made you feel important to him, even if the playing field wasn't level. He had so much knowledge and wisdom with in him, well versed in soooo many things yet never made me feel small. It was an honor to be entrusted to care for one of his most precious children Sami.And to be made to feel as part of his family. He passed from this life much like he lived it, with pride, determination, love and zest for life and family. He will always be remembered by all of us who knew him, with great love and respect, as the preceding entries and I'm sure proceeding entries will read. Laurie and Sami are products of his love and life and will grow and prosper in life as he did. Embracing every day with the same determined spirit. And he will be proud of you two. Dr. Wortman was a great guy with a warm heart and I always looked forward to seeing/talking to him for his scans.

I was a patient of Dr. Wortman.  He had such an easy manner, and great sense of humor.  RIP.

It was a real pleasure to be Dr. Wortman's hygienist for so many years.  He was such a proud father.  We will miss him very much.

Dr.Wortman was one of the finest dentists that I have met in my 20 years of being a hygienist. I have referred many family members and patients to him thru the years, including myself.  He will be greatly missed.  Such a wonderful man.

As a classmate of Ken, BU72 I will certainly miss  his edgy sense of humor and his friedship during the years at B.U.  I was certainly shocked by the news. Hopefully, you can reflect on the wonderful times spent together. May they bring comfort to you during these difficult times.

We will truly miss Kenney but he will forever remain in our hearts.

I am so truly sorry for the loss of this dear special man.And my heart goes out to all of his family. He touched my life and heart in a wonderful and unique way.
His teachings to me will last forever, and have made my life so much better for his part in it.I have always respected and admired his love for his family, and his devotion to his profession. And I will miss him always.

Whenever I would visit my mom at work, Kenny would always come out and say hello, and we'd banter back and forth about whatever was relevant at the time. He clearly enjoyed friendly debates and his quick wit and intelligence made it fun to engage with him. It's clear that he was a very devoted family man with a fierce sense of determination, a lot of fight, and a good heart. My thoughts and prayers and with all of you who loved him...he will be missed.

To the Wortman Family, you are forever in our hearts and thoughts. May the memories you've shared remind you of how special Mr. Kenneth was to everyone around him. Sammi, you made your dad extremely proud. Thanks for sharing him with the team!
