We lost an angel on Saturday, October 4, 2025. She passed away peacefully, at the age of 101. Lillian enjoyed a wonderful life, traveling, performing, organizing, fund raising and campaigning for her friends. She created the Showstoppers Community Theater Group, a theatrical ensemble of seniors aged 55 to 80, supporting more than 30 charitable organizations. Her passion for service and philanthropy includes her roles as past Chairwoman and member of the Sunrise Social Services Advisory Board, past Chairwoman of the Aging & Disability Resource Center of Broward County Fundraising Committee, past Vice President of the West Broward Democratic Club, and former member of the Florida Department of Elderly Affairs Advisory Board. Lillian was honored by Governor Lawton Chiles in the Congressional Record in 1987, celebrating her induction into the prestigious Nan S. Hutchison Broward Senior Hall of Fame, which acknowledged her extraordinary service and leadership. A full charge bookkeeper, Lillian worked into her 80’s.
She is survived by her son, Bruce Kirschenberg, daughter, Meryl Kirschenberg and loving nieces, Marilyn, Robin, Barbara, Ronnie, Mickie, Debbie and Amy. Preceded in death by her husband Jerry and brother Irving.
