Dear Lonnie, Remembering High School days with you … sorority sisters of SBC … walking, chatting and giggling!! Then we got reacquainted in Florida when I visited Elinor. Always enjoyed time with you and I was fortunate enough to zoom with you every Sunday since this pandemic. Rest now, Lonnie; we’ll miss you, and may your memory always be for a blessing.❤️

To our dear MVB girl, Thanks for always keeping us smiling and laughing. I’m so happy we were able to share  some 0 and 5 vacations and trips together as well as the many in between summer adventures. We’ll think of you always. May you Rest In Peace ❤️Leslie 

Lonnie was one of the greatest teachers and I am honored to have worked with her at Westpine.  Everybody who entered her room, children and adults, were wrapped in her love and acceptance.  There is no way to count or measure the change she made in so many of us.  Westpine was never the same after she retired and the world will now never be the same without her in it.  May her memory forever be a blessing.

Lonnie , I will miss you Lonnie so much!  We  were friends as teachers at Westpine  and still friends post retirement and also close neighbors All of the students always loved you They were very impressed with you on the first day of school I would have them write an essay and they always wrote about their favorite teacher after the first day of school Thats the impression you made ion your students from day one!  Everyone loved you Lonnie! I will miss going down to Kelly’s landing with you for Lobster Tuesdays I will miss our constant laughing and stories  We used to go to water aerobics and people would tell us to stop talking and we would just laugh !  We had our Covid shots together I still can’t believe you are gone ! You were one of the kindest most genuine person I’ve ever met and no one ever had anything but kind words for you Rest In Peace my dear friend  Love you  This pic was at my retirement in 2012 You we’re the best! 

My dearest friend, Rest In Peace. We met 62 years ago, going into 8th grade and have been friends ever since. We’ve been through marriage, childbirth, death, divorce together. You were my rock at my most troubled time. I’m having trouble imagining my life without you.  Your quick wit, your concern for me and the Van Buren Girls, our weekly zoom since covid 19 took over our world. I will miss you always. Your memory will be a blessing for sure.  Everlasting hugs.

 Your smile and humor lit up the room. Your were so kind to everyone. You always tried to be helpful to others. You were one of a kind. I will always remember you with love in my heart. I always looked forward to your FB pics.

Working with Lonnie was such a blessing! She was one of the truly great teachers of all time! She was the person I often went to for book recommendations when I was looking for a good read.  She had the best sense of humor and always made me laugh!  I will miss her.  Please accept my warmest condolences to the entire family for your loss.



Lonnie, my heart is so saddened today. I remember having lunch with Andrea and you this past summer. I loved talking and laughing with you both. It was like old times. Thank you for being such a HUGE inspiration to me as a young teacher and for all the lives you touched throughout your life. I will ALWAYS remember all the laughs and good times. I will miss you my friend. 💕

 Hi Lonnie this is Wendy I just wanted to let you know that I miss you terribly I love that you love giraffes and I bought for all your birthdays you will be missed you’re so funny and you love Adele music every time she sings I think of you I don’t know how all this happened the pieces of the puzzle do not fit but I hope you’re happy and peaceful and you’re in my heart forever your friend Wendy

   It’s with great sorrow that I am writing this.  You have been an inspiration to all that you have had contact with, whether it be a friend, family member, students and  co-workers.  Your wittiness and passion touched each and every one of us.  I will personally cherish the wonderful times we spent  together.  You will be missed by all.  Rest in peace my friend.  ❤️
