August 19, 1936 – June 20, 2025
Louis Mariano Rigaud, a proud Trinidadian, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025, at the age of 88.
Born in St. James, Trinidad, Louis was the eldest of 12 children. He embraced his Trinidadian and Venezuelan heritage and carried those roots proudly throughout his life.
Louis met and married the love of his life, Virginia. Together for 55 years, they built a strong, loving family. After many years in Brooklyn, they moved to Staten Island to be closer to their daughter, Sabrina, son-in-law Clifford, and grandsons Michael and David. In 2013, they retired to Florida.
Louis was a hardworking professional, first as a typesetter in Trinidad, then with the New York State Workmen’s Compensation Board. He was known for his discipline, intellect, and athleticism—captaining soccer teams, excelling at ping pong, and always valuing education and effort.
He is survived by his daughter Sabrina, son-in-law Clifford, and grandchildren Michael and David, along with many relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
