Mark was responsible for providing an opportunity for me to move to Florida to head up PR at NBR in 1997.  His professionalism and upbeat personality was truly appreciated.  Mark was a terrific friend and colleague during my 3 years at NBR.  I had just sent him birthday wishes and was floored when I read of his passing. He will be missed. My sincerest condolences to Dorothy and his family.

They say that when a person is born and dies on or near the same date that they have completed their mission in life . It makes your dad a true tzadik( righteous person).
May his life and your memories always be a blessing to you and your family.
And may you find comfort in knowing that he is in the heavens above kvelling over you and advocating for you and your family.

I remember Mark fondly. He was generous with sharing his knowledge and experience. He loved working in news, getting the scope and sharing the story. We stayed friends on Facebook and he stayed “in the know” his entire life. 
My condolences to the family.

Mark was a breath of fresh air.  He always had a smile on his face.  He did his best to make us laugh in the NBR Miami newsroom with a story, funny joke, time spent with his grandchildren, his time at NBC or even some random factoid.  I specifically remember him talking about the cranberry bogs of Maine, for some reason.  I was always delighted to hear him bring up the subject because it made me chuckle each and every time.  Mark spent a great deal of time with my Dad, George Dooley, at Channel 2, having many frequent conversations, almost weekly, about old New York, The Bronx, and cheerfully reminisced about their common television and radio career experiences.  On behalf of the Dooley family, our hearts are heavy with the news of Mark's passing.  I feel privileged to have known such a great and spirited individual. I know my Dad, George, did as well.  Wishing the Landsman family my deepest sympathies, peace and courage.

I had the honor of working with Mark at Nightly Business Report. He was a true professional, with a lot of class. In recent years, I've enjoyed reading his Facebook posts. We shared similar political ideals and September birthdays -- which explains why we got along so well because my favorite people are Virgos! :-) He was one-of-a-kind and the world is a little dimmer now without his shining spark. Godspeed Mark!
