Marvin Roy Haven

Born on March 4, 1932, in New York, Marvin was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 51 years, Betti, and a proud father to his four daughters: Nancy Burdi, Betsy (Dave) DePasquale, Robyne (Michael) Zimmerman, and Natalie (Greg) Rosenberger. He was a supportive older brother to his sisters, Marlene Cox and Carole Dayan. Marvin cherished his role as a grandfather to Barbara (John) Davis, Danielle (Patrick) Dvoran, Sean (Alexis) Oakes, Sean (Jillian) Tomlian, Bryan DePasquale, Ryan (Kendall) Oakes, and Jake (Emma) Zimmerman, and as a great-grandfather to Gianna, Ella, and Anthony Dvoran, Emme Davis, Penelope, Gracie, and Sadie Zimmerman, Rainey and Hunter Oakes, and soon-to-be Ellie Oakes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Meyer and Dora Haven, and his first wife, Barbara.

Marvin was a proud graduate of the University of Florida and a passionate Florida Gators fan. He dedicated 30 years to the insurance business, building a successful career marked by hard work and integrity, and he touched the lives of many throughout his career.

Known for his warm personality and his ability to make friends wherever he went, Marvin never missed an opportunity to strike up a conversation. His friendliness and charm endeared him to many. Marvin loved playing golf, cruising around the world with Betti, watching Florida Gators football, and enjoying an evening scotch and “Sean” dip with his family.

Marvin will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his kindness, and his unwavering spirit. His generosity and love left a lasting impact on all who knew him. His legacy lives on through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will continue to honor his memory.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 7 at 11:45 am at Star of David Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Funeral Chapel, followed immediately by interment for family. Meal of condolence will follow the service at the family home from 3:00 – 7:00 pm at 1140 Wilshire Circle West, Pembroke Pines FL 33027. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of South Florida in Marvin's memory in lieu of flowers.
