Michael Laurence Greenberg, of Boca Raton, passed away suddenly at the age of 75 at his home on December 24, 2024. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Born in Ottawa, Michael is the beloved son of the late Gilbert and Bess Greenberg. He is survived by his loving wife, Elissa, and his two cherished daughters, Rachel and Elana. He also leaves behind his siblings, Roger (Cindy), Marion (Richard), Alan (Darcia), Robert, and Kenneth, along with his brother-in-law Lewis (Marilyn). Michael was a proud and loving uncle to many nieces and nephews who will always remember him fondly.
Michael served as the proud President of Minto Florida, where his visionary leadership and dedication left a profound mark on communities spanning from Miami-Dade County through Palm Beach County and beyond. After retiring, he channeled his passion and energy into philanthropic endeavors, with his most recent projects focusing on Israel.
Michael’s love for Israel began at the age of 18 when he voluntarily left Canada to move to Israel as a lone soldier and joined the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). When the Yom Kippur War began, Michael returned to Israel to rejoin the IDF as a paratrooper, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to the country he loved.
Michael touched the lives of many with his kindness, generosity, and courage. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024 at 12 pm at Temple Beth Am in Margate, FL to celebrate his remarkable life. A private burial will be held in Ottawa, Canada at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Michael’s memory may be made to Garin Tzabar and Canadian Zionist Cultural Association (CZCA).
