IN THE CARE OF
Star of David Memorial Gardens Cemetery & Funeral Chapel
Nadine Sue Shapiro, age 67, of Coral Springs, Florida passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022. Nadine was born on January 8, 1955, in Queens, New York. Nadine attended Hofstra University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a Master’s in Music Education. Nadine went on to found “Broadway Bound,” a children's musical theater company based in Coral Springs in 1997.
Nadine’s passion for musical theater positively impacted thousands of young people. Broadway Bound became a ‘safe space’ for the expression of the performing arts in the community, and for the thousands of children who attended. She created a home away from home for her students and loved to call them her “Broadway Bound” family. Nadine was like a fairy godmother to the children in her program, believing in them and making their dreams come true. Nadine’s greatest joy in life was being a mother and grandmother. She is lovingly remembered by her children Lauren, Lindsay, and Greg, Son in Law Eric Brogna, and grandchildren Jacob, Emma, and Ava Brogna.
A funeral service for Nadine will be held Monday, September 19, 2022, at 1:30 PM at Star of David Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Funeral Chapel, 7701 Bailey Road, North Lauderdale, FL 33068. Following the funeral service will be a committal service at 2:00 PM at Bailey Memorial, 7801 Bailey Road, North Lauderdale, FL 33068.
