He was born on January 10, 1935, in New York City to the late Benjamin and Ruth Garber. He leaves behind his devoted and caring wife, Victoria (nee Bengiat), of 64 years, two loving daughters, Felicia Blahut (Gregory) and Michelle Edrich (Lawrence) along with four adoring granddaughters, Rachel and Gabrielle Edrich, and Natalie and Samantha Blahut.
At 6’4 ½”, Nathan attended Brandeis University on a basketball scholarship and graduated from NYU School of Commerce with a Bachelor of Science degree.
In 1961, he joined White Stag Sportswear developing a distinguished 30-year career as a sales representative serving the New York City metropolitan area plus Long Island, Staten Island, Westchester and Rockland Counties. He was very much admired in the industry.
While residing in Haworth, New Jersey, he was a member of the police auxiliary essentially providing extra manpower and specialized skills for a safer community.
In addition to his love of basketball, Nathan was a Latin dance enthusiast. His height did not impede the smooth and elegant dancer that he was.
At a Latin dance in New York City, he met Victoria and after their marriage in 1961, they continued to dance at the Palladium in Manhattan and the Gold Coast Ballroom in Coconut Creek, Florida.
Services were held at the graveside at Star of David Memorial Gardens in North Lauderdale, Florida.
He will surely be missed by all who knew and loved him.
