Nellie Cohen

Cohen, Nellie (Nee Peretzman) ,90,of Pembroke Pines, a woman of great kindness, love and generosity,peacefully passed away at home surrounded by her adoring family. Born in Atlanta, Georgia to Charles and Ida Peretzman

who moved to Florida in 1924, they were pioneer residents of Miami Beach. Nellie attended Miami Beach High and was married for 60 years to her beloved Seymour who pre-deceased her in year 2000. Survived by her brother William(Ruth)Peretzman of Jacksonville,Fl; her three daughters Arlene(Lou)Rothman of Vineland, NJ, Linda(Max)Leeman of Pembroke Pines, Fl, and Annette Coopersmith of Pompano Beach, Fl; 8 grandchildren, Michael(Dorothy)Rothman, Ricki(Craig)Ruel, Brad(Katurah)Gibson, Johnny Gibson, Steve Leeman,

Nathan Coopersmith, Sandra(Jason)Guiton, Jason(Lindsey)Coopersmith; also survived by very dear family friend JC Marchand; 13 great grandchildren, many dearly loved nieces, nephews, friends and long time devoted caregivers, Mary Riley, Madeleine Iafrate and Carolyn Brown.; Pre-deceased by brothers, Jack and Edwin Peretzman, sisters Celia Cohen, Lillian Evans, and Katherine Bell, and grandson Benjamin Coopersmith.  Her greatest joy was to be surrounded by her family.  She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Services will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 12:00 pm at Star of David Cemetery and Funeral Chapel,7701 Bailey Road, N. Lauderdale, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be sent to The American Diabetes Association.
