Dr. Phillip Greenberg passed away on May 30, 2026. He was born on Sept. 3, 1953, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Myron and Frieda Greenberg. Phil is survived by his loving husband, Tim Wike; his brothers, Wayne (Debby) Greenberg and David (Shelley) Greenberg; and his loving nieces and nephews.
Phil attended Walnut Hills High School in Cincinnati and earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Pharmacy. He then attended medical school at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo and completed his residency in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he met Tim and many lifelong friends.
Always focused on his patients, Phil made the decision to leave a for-profit HMO in Philadelphia to serve our veterans, transitioning his practice to the VA Clinic in Broward County (Fort Lauderdale). He later became the Chief Medical Officer of the Broward County VA Medical Clinic. His passion for patient care and for serving veterans extended beyond his profession through his service to the AJC Children’s Foundation Orphanage in Honduras and his many trips and board service with Honor Flight, taking South Florida veterans to our nation’s capital for well-deserved recognition and remembrance.
Phil was surrounded by dear friends, family, and former staff members who loved him in return for his genuine and caring nature. His memory will live on within all those who carry his kindness and generosity forward. For those who shed a tear, it is a tear filled with gratitude, laughter, and love. Phil will always hold a cherished place in your heart.
Funeral services will be held at 11:45 a.m. at the Star of David Chapel Funeral Chapel, 7701 Bailey Road, North Lauderdale, FL. In addition to these funeral arrangements, a future celebration of life will be planned. Memorial contributions may be made to one of Phil’s favored charities, the ASPCA https://www.aspca.org/ or locally the Humane Society of Broward County https://humanebroward.com/
