Dear Dotty, 
I just learned of Bob’s passing (03/20/23) and I would like to offer my prayers and sympathy.  You and Bob were the nicest people ever to work for.  In the few short years I worked for you at Water Taxi, I grew to genuinely love Water Taxi and all the aspects of the business. To this day, I still miss the camaraderie of all your Captains and Mates. Everyone there was special and will remain so in my heart.

I am deeply saddened to find out about Bob' s passing.  I worked very closely with Bob when he first started the canal cab business which later dwarfed into the Fort Lauderdale water taxi,

I spent many years as the Supervisor of Marine Facilities with the City of Fort Lauderdale.  I remember that Bob was a devoted member of the Marine Advisory Board of which I was the liaison for 25 years.  He was a major factor in developing a water taxi ordinance to improve the quality of this type of service which still exists today.  As far as I know Bob was a pioneer in the water taxi concept.

He will truly be missed and his warm and generous personality is his hallmark of his life with exception of devotion to his family.

I’ve only known Bob for a few years. Most the time we spent together was bringing my cousins boat north and south each spring and fall from Florida to New England.  They were fun trips and full of talks about the same people we knew. Many of whom were tuna fisherman in the North East.  My sincere condolences to Dottie and the rest of Bobs family. The best thing I can think of to say was that he was a Good Guy.   Hoot. 

I had the pleasure of working for and with Bob and Dottie at Water Taxi as a captain. 
Bob was my mentor. He always brought out the best in me with my captaining skills, dispatching and everyday life.
Once when I was dispatching we got a bomb scare and Bob arrived and sat next to me while I handled the situation. He had a lot of trust in me. 
I became a part of the family. I house sat when they were gone and took care of the dog and birds. 
Bob you were a great part of my life and I thank you for that. 
Dotty, Norm and Lizzy my heart is with you. 
Rest in Peace Captain. You will be remembered forever.

I first met Bob back in 79' in Bimini. He was a heck of a Fisherman but he Graciously accepted that my boat beat him in the biggest water balloon battle ever in Bimini. We became casual friends over the years. And he did brighten up people's day , no matter who you were. A Class act all the way. May you catchem up in  Heaven. RIP Sir..
Capt. Matt Gibson

I first met Bob in April 1973, I was Regional Sales mgr for Clark Equipment Co out of Battle Creek, MI. Bob was the most positive thinking person I've ever met, he lit up the room when he walked in and that rubbed off on the entire sales force at Brodie, Inc, they were the top sales force in the country. Bob went on to purchase the Clark Dealership in Baltimore, MD in 1974 and I was his regional mgr until he sold the business in the early 80's and went on to new challenges.  We became FB friends several years ago and we continued to keep in contact with each other. He will be missed by all that knew him. RIP Sir!

I will miss your smile Bob.  I know you're up in heaven Tearing it up.  I will always remember our mutual love of Orchids.
