

She was a graduate of Hunter College at the age of 19. During World War II she worked in the War Department in the Office of the Censor in Washington,D.C. She was an elementary school teacher in NY for over 25 years, the initial vice president of the Herricks Teachers’ Association and their lead negotiator securing equal pay for female teachers and elementary school teachers with their colleagues in the upper grades, a work free lunch period among many other benefits.
She lived in Florida shortly after her retirement in 1983 and she was active in Temple Beth El of Boca Raton and in other community organizations related to protecting and educating children.
She was the last survivor of the seven children born to Frank and Anna Resnick of what was then called Elisabethgrad ,Russia. She became a citizen of the USA in 1937 after being deported and granted reentry thereby being able to attend Hunter College.
She was married to Jack Jacobson in 1942 and since 2009 was a widow. She is survived by a daughter, son, grandchildren and great grandchildren and by many loving nieces and nephews spanning the generations through being the Great ,Great, Great Aunt of Thomas Bennett Tomaino who delighted her until her passing with his numerous FaceTime calls."
