Selma Finkelstein lived April 23, 1926 – April 6, 2015. Daughter of Louis and Celia Sussman. Beloved wife of Herman Finkelstein. Loving mother of Ronnie Wilson and Janet Finkelstein. Loving grandmother of Cory Winn, Derek Wilson, and Samantha Wilson. Loving great-grandmother of Jeffery Winn, Henry Wilson, and Vivian Wilson.
Selma met her soon-to-be husband while eating lunch in Brighton Beach. Though she lost a good sandwich that day, she gained a loving husband on March 31, 1945. Selma raised two beautiful daughters in Brooklyn, New York. She not only took care of them but all of those close to her heart.
Her love of shopping was exceeded only by her love of family, a trait passed dutifully onto her grandchildren. Selma and Herman enjoyed traveling throughout the year. In fact, she may be the only known woman to have twisted an ankle in all seven continents. Selma had a generous soul, hosting weekly Mahjong events, visiting and accommodating family several times a year, and dealing with Herman’s sense of humor for seven decades. She is greatly loved and will be sorely missed.
