Sharon Robin Rosenthal

Born on July 27, 1954, in Baltimore, Maryland to Harold and Sarah Zalesch, Sharon grew up alongside her older brother, Saul. She married her high school sweetheart in 1974 and together they embarked on a journey that took them to Fort Gordon in Augusta, Georgia—where, by her own account, they single-handedly doubled the local Jewish population—before eventually settling in Coral Springs, Florida. It was there that Sharon built a vibrant, beautiful life and raised her two proudest accomplishments: her children, Shayna and Jason.

Sharon lived her life surrounded by community and connection. Through her active involvement with Hadassah and various Jewish organizations, she cultivated lifelong friendships that became a cornerstone of her world. Deeply connected to her faith, Sharon loved Judaism—not just for its tradition, but for its dialogue. She never shied away from asking big questions and sharing her own unique interpretations of things.

Carrying on the cherished tradition from her mother, Sharon was the true social center and ultimate hostess. She loved to host holidays and be surrounded with friends and family, all of whom eagerly anticipated her signature mix of genuine positivity and playful sarcasm.

When she wasn't building community, Sharon truly mastered the art of relaxing. She could most often be found engrossed in a good book, taking a well-earned nap, snuggling one of her four precious grandchildren, lounging in the pool, or setting sail on a cruise ship.

Sharon was lucky enough to have several great loves in her life. She was preceded in death by her third husband, Roy, one of the true loves of her life. Together, she and Roy loved cruising, and his humor and deep care for her entire family held a special place in her heart.

Sharon was blessed to meet Steve a little over a year ago, who brought boundless joy into her life and encouraged her to retire and enjoy herself to the fullest. Together, they squeezed every drop of happiness out of the time they had—averaging an impressive 1.5 cruises a month and seeing the world side by side.

Above all, Sharon adored her four grandchildren: Sarah (16), Sophie (14), Ari (6), and Maya (3). Distance between Florida, New Jersey, and San Francisco meant nothing compared to her love for them. Her absolute favorite days were spent taking her grandkids to the playground, treating them to Dunkin' Donuts, and playing in the pool.

Sharon’s bright energy, honest humor, and endless warmth will be deeply missed by her family, her friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

May her memory be a blessing, a comfort, and a source of laughter to all who loved her.
