Born June 5, 1934 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Sadie and David Gittelman, Stanley grew up in a loving home with his sister Barbara Schwartz. He graduated Walnut Hill HS 1952 and enlisted in the army. He was stationed in Fort Bliss, Texas and served as a radio controller and jail guard.
Stanley was the beloved husband of Marcia
Gittelman, with whom he shared a lifetime of partnership, laughter, and unwavering devotion for over 51 years. They got engaged in his first car, a 1955 red Chevrolet Bel Air convertible. Together, they built a home filled with warmth, kindness, and enduring love.
He was a proud and caring father to Michael (Marissa), Betsy (Chuck), Julie and grandfather to Matthew, Kyle(Lindsay), and Drew who were the center of his world. Stanley took great joy in supporting his family in all of their pursuits, offering steady guidance, encouragement, and a sense of humor. His family will forever remember his wisdom, generosity, and the deep love he showed in both word and deed.
In his professional life, he was a fundraiser for the City of Hope, Jewish National Fund, and later worked at a collectible store. He also volunteered as the ice cream man at his daughter’s elementary school. He worked hard for his family and never complained.
Stanley will be remembered for his integrity, quiet strength, and the genuine interest he took in the lives of others. He had a gift for making people feel welcomed and valued, and his presence brought comfort and reassurance to those around him. He enjoyed fishing, playing bingo, following the stock market and watching his hometown teams: the Miami Hurricanes, Miami Heat and the Florida Panthers.
Though he will be deeply missed, Stanley's legacy lives on in the family he adored and the countless lives he touched. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
