Anita Allison, age 71, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 8, 2024, at her home in Mt.Vernon, Arkansas. She was born in Little Rock, AR on October 16, 1952, to Eugene “Gene” Wetzler and Reba Skinner Wetzler. Anita was a devoted wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, and the dearest friend. She was witty, funny, independent, and a true spitfire. Along with her quick wit and humor, Anita was extremely compassionate and incredibly strong. Anita raised 9 children and did everything in her power to take care of her loved ones. She enjoyed gardening, most specifically her knockout rose bushes. Anita’s greatest joy was found in her faith in Jesus Christ, with whom she shared an unshakable relationship. To know Anita was to know the embodiment of selflessness.
She is preceded in death by her parents; beloved daughter, Traci Lumpkin; cherished granddaughter, Amanda Allison; two brothers; and two sisters. Anita is survived by the love of her life and husband of 50 years, John M. Allison II; one son, John (Janice) M. Allison III; four daughters, Sheila Allison, Terri Matthews, Laura (Anthony) Durrell, Michelle (Danny) Johnston; nineteen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, AR. Graveside Service to follow at 11:00 AM, with Bro. Drew Glover officiating.
