“Miss Ann,” as she was known to many, was born on June 20, 1932, in Little Rock, Arkansas to Gordon R. Brown, Sr., and Lillian Conover Brown. She lived in Scott for most of her life. After graduating from Little Rock Central High in 1950, she attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where she graduated with a degree in Home Economics. Ann taught in Pine Bluff and Forrest City, and she demonstrated new appliances for First Electric Cooperative. She married John Mark Harton of Quitman, Arkansas, on February 2nd, 1957. Once married, she and John traveled the US, Japan, and Spain, courtesy of the USAF. Miss Ann was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her son, John R. Harton (Karen) of Grand Prairie, TX, and her daughter, Jeanie Quist (Michael) of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Ann is also survived by her eight grandchildren: Scott Harton (Christi), Hugh Daniel Harton (Brent), and Anna Harton, all of central Arkansas; Samantha Harton of Coppell, TX; Christine Quist, Michael C. Quist (Lani), Rebecca Quist, and Jessica Meek (Tyler), all of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and two grandchildren: Lawson and Lilly Harton.
Service will be held on Monday, May 10th at 10AM at Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, AR 72117.
