Anna J. Cooper, 84, of Springdale AR passed away on Thursday, April 30th. Born on January 24, 1942, to the late Jack and Kathryn (Black) Johnson, Anna was a 1960 graduate of Lake Village High School and attended William Woods College in Missouri. In addition to her parents, Anna is preceded in passing by her husband of 54 years, Henry, sister Jackie Miller, and beloved granddaughter Sarah Kate Simmons.
In December of 1963, after meeting on a blind date, she married the love of her life, Henry. Together, they raised their family of Catherine (Jeffrey) Simmons, and Matthew (Carol) between North Little Rock and Conway. Along with her children, Anna was responsible for raising numerous dogs, cats, horses and even the occasional chicken. They all benefited and thrived under her love and care. After both children graduated and moved away, Anna found her next calling in professional sales. She especially loved her time with Christopher Radko Ornaments, traveling the mid-south to call on customers and make new friends. When not working, Anna enjoyed attending and watching sporting events and fishing. Most of all, she loved spending time with family and friends, especially at Christmas where she prepared and served world-class meals.
Along with her two children and their spouses, Anna is survived by grandchildren Jackson, Eleanor, and George; as well as many other beloved family members and friends.
