Barry graduated from Minor High School, Class of 1977. Shortly after graduation, he joined the U.S.Air Force where he eventually made his way to Little Rock AFB where he met his wife. They settled down in Sherwood and celebrated 40 years of marriage this past October. He retired from the military after 20 years of service before working forthe Union Pacific Railroad as a train engineer. After his second retirement, he enjoyed spending time at the lake and never missed an Alabama football game.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Patti and his brother Ronny. He is survived by his wife Evelyn (Deuerling) Wideman and their three sons, Nicholas and his wife Kathleen, Jonathan, Charles and his wife Samantha, six grandchildren: Abigail, Addyson, Nathan, Cullen, Eli, Charlotte and many nieces and nephews.
A service of remembrance will be held on Monday January 17th 6-8 pm at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home. Interment will be held Tuesday January 18th 1 PM at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, North Little Rock.
