Betty Jo Cummings

Betty Jo Cummings, 90, of North Little Rock passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 26, 2022. She was born in Hughes, Arkansas on January 27, 1932 to the late Raymond and Magdalene Brown. She married Wallace Cummings in 1951 and they shared 65 years of marriage until his passing in 2017. Betty loved children, as evidenced by her 20+ year career in childcare at La Petite Academy. She enjoyed watching Razorback basketball and the St. Louis Cardinals, and sharing stories of her very own basketball experiences as a star player in high school.

Betty leaves to cherish her memory, her two sons Wallace Cummings Jr. and his wife Denise, Chris Cummings and his wife Leslie, four grandchildren Jason Cummings and his wife Brooke, Brooke Cummings, Michael Cummings and his wife Kayce, and Casey Cummings, eight great grandchildren, Ava, Bella, Cambrie, Cannon, Mac, Maddox, Meric and Porter, her sister Ellen Glass; and a host of nieces and nephews. Betty is preceded in death by her husband Wallace Cummings, her parents, her brother Jack Brown, and her sister Lorene Spradlin.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 1, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home in North Little Rock. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am in the funeral home, with Ken Shaddox officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Hills Memorial Park.
