Betty graduated from the Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Little Rock, Arkansas, devoting her career to caring for others with compassion and skill. She married the love of her life, Louis Ralph Howard, and together they raised three children — Scott Howard, Alicia Teston (Michael), and Greg Howard (Jennifer). Betty was endlessly proud of her children, their accomplishments, and the lives they built.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, sisters Dorothy Tabor, Grace Neil, and brother Frank Straight.
Left to uphold her memory are her grandchildren: Blaine Teston of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Brenna Teston of Little Rock, Arkansas, Taylor Howard and Ashton Howard, both of South Pasadena, California, her brother, Jack Straight (Linda), of Tulsa, Oklahoma and her sister Doris Perry of Gentry, Arkansas.
Betty was an exceptionally talented seamstress and quilter. She created one-of-a-kind pieces for family and friends, generously shared her skills with anyone who wanted to learn, and was always ready to help tailor a garment in need of a little love. Her home reflected her passions — she lovingly cared for the bluebirds that visited her yard, making sure they were fed and protected, and she delighted in collecting recipes. Each Christmas, everyone looked forward to her famous homemade peanut brittle, a sweet tradition that will be remembered fondly.
She was loved deeply and will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and steady strength — qualities she carried throughout her life. Her legacy lives on in the hearts and hands of her family and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
