Juanita Ashley, 95, passed Saturday, November 2, 2019. Juanita was born on December 13, 1923 in Murfreesboro, Arkansas, the daughter of Homer and Sallie Copeland. Juanita graduated Murfreesboro High School. She married Harold Ashley on April 1, 1945. She was a homemaker; often assisting her husband with the family’s construction business. She and her family were founding members of Oak Grove Church of Christ, and she later became a member of Maumelle Church of Christ. She enjoyed 4-H, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, and late in life became an avid Razorback fan.
Juanita is survived by her three children, Reba Warnock of Maumelle, Nancy Lamb and her husband Bill of Maumelle, Jim Ashley and his wife Barbara of Maumelle, six grandchildren Jon Lamb and his wife Tori of Little Rock, Angela Stewart and her husband Mark of Owings Mills Maryland, Laura Looney and her husband Nathan of Searcy, Caleb Warnock and his wife Katy of Greenbrier, Katie Holloway and her husband Jimmy of Maumelle, Clark Ashley of Little Rock, eight great grandchildren Dustin Warnock and his wife Alyssa, Olivia Warnock, Gabriel Epperson, Madyson Lamb, Mason Lamb, Ender Holloway, Lydia Holloway, and Bennett Looney. Also surviving is her brother Basil Copeland and his wife Betty of North Little Rock, and brother-in-law Dawson Cook of Little Rock, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, son-in-law Richard Warnock, granddaughter Ashlea Warnock and siblings J.E. Copeland, Martha Jenkins, Hazel Cook, and William Copeland.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 5, 2019 from 5-7pm at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock. Funeral Services are Wednesday, November 6, 2019 beginning at 9:30 am in the funeral home with Nicky Valls officiating. Burial will take place in Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. Juanita’s family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her honor to either Timothy Hill Children’s Ranch in Long Island, New York, or The Children’s Home of Paragould Arkansas.
