Diana K. Arthur, age 72, loving mother to two daughters and a devoted grandmother of four, passed away on Tuesday, July 5th, 2022. Diana was a strong, independent, and beautiful woman. She was known by many names (Mom, Nana, Nina, Ethel, Dirty Diana). She has navigated the loss of two husbands and her mother with grace and strength. She walked through many different phases of life and developed a vast and diverse circle of friends who she treated as family. She loved her fur babies and spent many years scheduling her life activities around what was best for them. As a mother, she was generous, patient, loving and kind and never wavered in her support of her children. If you knew her, then you knew she never left the house without her hair combed and her makeup on. She was taught at an early age by her mother to always look your best. Diana did her very best to never miss an activity for one of her grandchildren. She became well versed in the rules of soccer, volleyball and golf and was a well-recognized face at the schools her grandchildren attended. Her presence at those events will be greatly missed by everyone. Her most recent accomplishment was being able to attend her oldest granddaughters wedding earlier this year. Diana was a member of NLC in Cabot and was a part of multiple bible study groups; and while the pandemic kept her away from in-person church for some time, she was dedicated to receiving God’s word through the virtual services each week. She always surrounded herself with family and friends, which is where she felt comfortable and loved.
Diana was a member of the Texas High School class of 1968. She married in 1970 to the love of her life (the late Danny Thomas) and father to her children. Diana and Danny spent 29+ years building a family and a life in Central Arkansas. She started work for Allied Telephone Company/ALLTEL Communications in 1973 and retired 31 years later in 2004. She retired completely from the workforce as an employee of Southwest Power Pool in August of 2015.
Diana was born at Fort Campbell, Kentucky in 1950. She was the daughter of the late Charles Dunn and the late Marguerite Elaine Dunn. Diana is survived by her two daughters: Stephanie (JD) Belden and Melissa (Amy Cadmus) McCord. She left behind four grandchildren: Sydney (Colton) Miller, Maxwell T. (17) and Gabriel K. Haslauer (15) and Camryn D. Belden (10); two brothers: Dennis (Mary) Dunn, Kenny Dunn and sister Carol Peacock, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and husband of nearly 30 years, Danny Thomas. She was blessed to have found love again and was married to the late Fred Arthur for nearly 16 years.
We find comfort and peace in knowing she is reunited with her heavenly Father and those that have gone before her.
