

Edith G. Parr of North Little Rock, passed away November 19, 2015, and is now with her Lord and Savior. She was 87 and lived a full and blessed life. She was the daughter of Hillman and Martha Gibson and was born in Ramer,Tennessee. She was married for 58 years to David L. Parr, who preceded her in death in 2009. She is survived, son Travis L. Parr (Peggy) New Orleans, grandsons Nathaniel Parr (Joy), New Orleans and Grant Parr (Jackie), Fort Worth, TX) and son Stephen L. Parr (Sue) Memphis, TN, grand-daughters Natalie Browne (Stephen), Oklahoma City OK, great-grandsons Hillman & Crawford Browne; Dr. Valerie Parr, Huntsville, AL and grandson Stephen D. Parr, Chicago, IL. Mrs. Parr is also survived by sister, Mrs. Helen Caruso of Fyfe, AL and brother Dr. William Coleman Gibson of Fort Payne, AL. Mrs. Parr was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church for 25 years and loved her Sunday school class, church and her bible studies. She was a proud member, sponsor and volunteer for the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Foundation. She was very active in volunteer community work in many organizations over the years and served on several non-profit boards, including serving as the President for the Arkansas Mental Health Association, the North Little Rock Women’s Club, the Arts Center and Laman Library. Visitation will be Saturday, December 5, at 1:00 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock.
