
She was born on November 10, 1927, in Aguadilla Puerto Rico, to the late Mariano R Acosta Sr. and Laura Ruiz De Acosta. She was married to Air Force Sergeant Henry Wayne Carpenter in 1950 and had twin girls in 1951. He went on to serve in the Air Force for 20 more years before his retirement. They had many assignments throughout the states and overseas. Edna devoted her life to her family, raising her two children with love and patience. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and raising chickens.
Preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Henry Wayne Carpenter, and eleven brothers and sisters; she is survived by her children, Shirley Ann Farrar, and Nan Acosta-Carpenter; two grandchildren; and her brother Oliver Acosta Ruiz; along with numerous nephews, nieces, great grandchildren and friends.
Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held at 2pm on Saturday, June 20th with visitation an hour prior to service at Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, Arkansas. She will be laid to rest following the service in Rest Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society in Edna’s memory.
