Eloice (Mays) Meeks was born October 15, 1947 to Walker and Josephine Mays and was truly a Mama’s girl and her bigger sister Louise’s baby, too. Eloice graduated from Nelson High School in 1965, and was blessed a number of years later to work at the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration for several years before being blessed to retire.
Eloice was born into holiness in the Church of God in Christ and later served with her husband Robert in the Full Gospel Baptist and Agape churches. She loved and served the Lord and His people with all of her heart and had a special love for teaching the youth in Sunday School, singing and leading the choir and working with the missions team.
Eloice had a special flair for decorating and pulling together outfits to wear, loved spending time with her grandbabies and great granddaughter whom she affectionately called her “Sugar Baby”. She had an ever growing love and hunger for the Word of God, sharing the goodness of God, praising and worshiping the Lord and praising God in the dance.
Eloice had a special love for her late husband Robert, who passed away April 7, 2023. Robert and Eloice were always working to learn and please each other and be an example of what it meant to represent the love of God in the earth by way of their marriage.
Eloice transitioned from mortality to immortality on Monday, September 30, 2024 and leaves to cherish her wisdom and so many wonderful memories: her daughter Tanya, granddaughter Tia, grandson Taron, great granddaughter Reign, sister Louise Parker Young, goddaughter Diane Inez of Munford and a special sons Eskerge and Timothy Ray with special daughter of her heart Patricia Trisha of Las Vegas, her dog Buddy and great granddog Cookie. She also leaves a host of nieces and nephews that loved their Aunt Loice and bonus children and grandchildren that she shared with her late husband Robert. She was also preceded in death by her parents, sisters Lucille Smith and Verlean Booth, and brothers Henry G. Parker and Walker Mays, Jr.
