

Genevieve Belle Sorrows, age 83, of Sherwood, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025, with her three children by her side. Born on January 23, 1942, in Benton, Arkansas, Genevieve lived a life marked by resilience, love, and devotion to her family.
She was a proud mother to three children: Bruce Sorrows (Kelly), Rhonda Gautreaux (Michael), and Jay Sorrows (Alicia). She was also a loving grandmother to eight grandchildren: Alana Andras (Justin), Andrew Gautreaux (Brooke), Adrien Benoit (Jansen), Abigail Carpenter (Jacob), Kendall Sorrows, Connor Sorrows, and Cade Sorrows—seven of whom survive her. Her five great-grandchildren—Beckham and Baker Andras, Everly Benoit, Eli Gautreaux, and Rosalie Carpenter—brought her immense joy and were a source of pride and happiness.
Genevieve is survived by her two sisters, Jan Bellew of Cornelia, Georgia, and Judy Rickard of Clearwater, Florida, and one brother, Charles Jones, of Tacoma, Washington. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margert Ewell Jones; two brothers, Kenneth and Gary Jones; and her grandchild, Anna Grace Sorrows.
Genevieve had deep faith in Jesus Christ and looked forward to going home to heaven. She was known for her warm heart, sharp wit, and unwavering support for those she loved. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the family she cherished.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the dedicated team at DaVita North Little Rock Dialysis Center and the professional SICU medical staff at CHI St. Vincent Infirmary for their compassionate care and support during Genevieve’s final days.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 7th at 11 AM at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Visitation will begin at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkway Place Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas, in Genevieve’s memory.
