

George Leon Kyzer, 79, of El Paso, Arkansas passed away Sunday, April 17, 2022. Leon was born March 31, 1943 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late George and Jean Kyzer. On April 14, 1960, Leon married the love of his life, June, and together, they lovingly raised their family in Sherwood before moving to El Paso.
Leon was a devoted and loving son, husband, Dad, “Pappy”, brother, uncle and friend to all that knew him. He loved being outdoors fishing, hunting, going to the lake and deer camp. He also enjoyed going to the beach, on cruises, family vacations and annual anniversary trips to Branson with his forever bride, his “June Bug”.
Leon worked for many years as a mechanic then service manager for Goodyear in Jacksonville and Little Rock, Jody Brown Motors in Conway and Orr Automotive Group in Searcy before retiring in 2008 to enjoy tinkering in his shop and his many hobbies. He was a member of the El Paso First Baptist Church, Rixey Hunting Club and a Life Member of El Paso Masonic Lodge #65.
Leon is preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Velma June Price Kyzer, his parents, George Grady Kyzer and Jean Davis Kyzer, sister, Janette Kyzer McNair and granddaughter Taylore’ Elizabeth Hall. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Debbie Hubbard (Garry), Sherri Mathis (Mike), Michelle Hagerman (Phil) and son, Mike Kyzer (Angela); grandchildren Jed Johnson, Jackson Hagerman (Makenna), Jacob Hall, Taylor Kyzer (Haven), Hope Hagerman Davis (Kolby) and Pierce Hubbard; great granddaughters, Kaleigh Jade Elizabeth Johnson, Mia June Kyzer and great grandson, John Kruz Davis; sisters, Judy Kyzer-Herron and Vicky Beard; sister-in-law, Loretta Ward, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors. Leon will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family wishes to express sincere gratitude for the love, care and support shown to Leon; namely Dr. Frits van Rhee, the many nurses and attendants at the Myeloma Infusion Center and Clinic as well as the doctors, nurses and staff of F7, Myeloma Unit at UAMS and Dr. Love and staff at Arkansas Hospice at CHI St. Vincent Infirmary.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Thursday, April 21st at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Rd., NLR. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Friday, April 22nd at the funeral home with burial in Rest Hills Memorial Park at 3:00 pm.
