Geraldine “Gerri” Day, 78, of Sherwood passed away Monday, November 28, 2016. She was born on a dairy farm in Fairbanks, Iowa to parents Floyd and Iva Mae Kerns along with seven other brothers and sisters. Gerri married Elmer Day in 1956 and they moved to the Sherwood area after several transfers, helping Elmer operate several gas stations until she went to work for the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration. A quiet person, Gerri loved to use her creative talents by sewing her daughters clothing, embroidery and painting. She was a loving and patient caregiver to several of her family members; it was her very best quality. Gerri was preceded in death by her parents, brother Charles Kerns, sister Genevieve Lubbs and her husband of 46 years, Elmer Day. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Kim Gable, Jeffrey Day, Gary Day and Jennifer (Chris) Johnson along with eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
