

Gladys Earnestine (Scarlett) Turner, age 92, passed away on December 28, 2023, in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born on February 11, 1931, in Crosett, Arkansas. Ernie, as she preferred to be called, was a beloved mother to her three children, Russell, Sid and her late daughter, Scarlett and a cherished grandmother to her five grandchildren, Andrew McNeill, Miles McNeill, Caleb Turner, Brooke Turner, and Zach Turner. She was also a proud great-grandmother to three great-grandchildren, Zoey, Keira, Ethan and Ezra.
Ernie served as President of AGLOW ministries in the 1980's and was instrumental in establishing the Arkansas chapter. In addition to her work at AGLOW, she volunteered her time with the Potter's House domestic abuse shelter in Hot Springs and Brother Paul Holderfield's Friendly Chapel Fish Fry. Throughout the years, she hosted many prayer meetings and Bible studies out of her home.
Outside of her work, Ernie enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She found joy in nurturing her plants and spent many hours creating beautiful landscapes.
A visitation will be held on January 2, 2023, at 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM, and a graveside ceremony at 3:00 PM. The services will take place at Griffin Leggett Funeral Home, located at 7724 Landers Rd, North Little Rock, AR 72117.
Today, Ernie is in heaven with her loving husband, Thomas Warren Turner, and her daughter, Scarlett McNeill. She is survived by her sons, Russell and Sid, along with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
