Jim was born in Little Rock on February 5, 1949 to James L. and Ozella Elrod. He is preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his wife Karen, son Kevin (Melanie), son Cody (Tiffany), granddaughter Megan, newborn grandson Teddy, his mother Ozella and sister Sandra.
In 1984 he met and married Karen. In 1991 they opened Cody’s Café in Jacksonville and operated it for 20 years. They later opened three other restaurants before retiring.
Jim was a Vietnam Veteran and a member of First Baptist of Sherwood.
Service will be Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, North Little Rock, AR. Visitation is at 11am and service begins at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to We Are the 22, PO Box 241391, Little Rock, AR 72223
