James Daniel Ried Jr., 54, of Little Rock, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Baptist Medical Center. He was born on May 31, 1971, in Little Rock to the late James Ried Sr. and Charlene Williford.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, James found joy in basketball, baseball, and football—and in sharing that passion with others. His love for the game was matched only by the love he showed to those around him.
James is survived by his son, Joshua Beck of Camden, Arkansas; his brothers, Charley Ried (Elaine) of Rosebud, Arkansas, and Nathan Ried (Sommer) of Tallahassee, Florida; and his sister, Shannon Pate (Jimbo) of Little Rock, Arkansas.
Those who knew James will remember not only how he lived, but how he made them feel—valued, heard, and uplifted. His legacy lives on through his family and the many memories cherished by friends and loved ones.
A memorial service celebrating James’s life will be held at 10:00 A.M. on October 11, 2024, at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Rd, North Little Rock, AR 72117. His family invites all who knew and loved him to come together in remembrance of a life well lived.
