Mrs. June Sexton of Jacksonville passed away January 30, 2017 at the age of 84. She was born in Los Angeles California to parents, Roy and Jessie Sowles. She was a loving wife to her husband, Dewey Sexton, and was a loving stay-at-home mom to their four children. Family was what June valued most in her life and she was especially proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Many special, cherished memories were made over the years with June and Dewey at family get-togethers. June loved all animals and always had a dog. She had rescued her current dog, Sadie, from the vet’s office after she had been abandoned and gave Sadie a wonderful home. She was also an accomplished knitter and quilter. Everyone in the family has at least one thing June had made for them whether it be an afghan, baby blanket, shawl or the many quilts she made with love. June was a Christian. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Florence Chapter #15 and Jewel Chapter #362. June is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Jessie Sowles; husband, Dewey Sexton, daughter Debbie Thomas and grandson, Anthony Sexton. Left to celebrate her memory are her children, JD Sexton and wife, Rita, of Jacksonville, Arkansas, Pam Fitzwater and husband, Hugh, of San Marcos, Texas and James Sexton and wife, Lydia, of Fairdealing, Missouri; her grandchildren Jessica Dukes and husband Artie of Lusby, Maryland, Eric Brumitt and wife Michelle of Salt Lake City, Utah, David Sexton of Williston, North Dakota, Crystal Collum and husband, Andrew of Sacramento, California and Sarah Moore and her husband, David, of West Plains, Missouri. For those who wish to do so, memorials may be made in June’s memory to the American Heart Association with the families’ thanks. Funeral services will be held at Levy Baptist Church, 3501 Pike Ave., North Little Rock, Arkansas at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 6, 2017 with Pastor Steven Tiner officiating.
