Leah Ann Goodwin was born in Memphis on November 21, 1963. She passed away on Thursday, June 10th at her home in North Little Rock. At an early age, Leah Ann married Gary Goodwin and they had two children, Holly and Hunter. She eventually partnered with Ron Sanders. Leah Ann and Ron have been married for almost 20 years.

Leah Ann is survived by her husband, Ron; daughter, Holly Brooks; son, Hunter Goodwin and his wife Stephanie; sister, Sherry Kitler; brother, Kenny Robinson and his husband Dr. Archie Jao; grandchildren Evan Pate, Saven Brooks, Oliver Brooks, Jaxon Glass, and Ren Goodwin; and many loving friends and family members.

Leah Ann was beautiful and charismatic. She had a wicked sense of humor. She would light up a room and keep everyone smiling and laughing. She also, like her mother, was one of the kindest and most loving people that you could ever hope to meet. Leah Ann never met a stranger, sometimes to the chagrin of her brother Kenny on the crowded streets of Manhattan.

Leah Ann had a giving spirit. She was a dedicated volunteer at Lakewood Nursing home, where they loved her dearly and she made deep, lasting relationships. She kept extra socks, water, and gloves in her car and would stop and give them to indigent people on the street. She loved yoga, was crazy about dogs, and was the best Yaya in the world to her grandchildren.

Those that love her are in shock and cannot believe that she is gone. She was our precious baby girl. We don’t know what we are going to do without her.

Leah Ann was very special to my mom and me. Mother loved her and looked forward to her visits each week. She would bring treats for all the residents at Lakewood and would sit and talk to my mom. I know there is a special place in heaven for a person like her who always showed such kindness. My prayers are with Hunter, Holly, family and friends who loved her.

My name is Catherine Starr and Leah Ann was my best friend for over twenty years. We met at Fleet Tire and worked there together for ten years. She was the only true friend that I ever had, I could trust her with my life. No one could ever replace her. Through thick and thin, she was always there. If I had a secret, she could keep it. We had such a strong bond. She was the most loyal person I had ever met, and we had such a great time together. She was a fun person and very loving. She was so funny and happy all the time. I loved her dearly and will miss her each and every day.

Leah Ann was a gift from God. Her humor was so genuine and contagious. I know she is in heaven with my father, calling each other Fred and Esther from the sitcom , "Sanford and Son," (that was their nicknames for each other!) Last night I was at my oldest son's house. The TV was on outside. SANFORD and SON was on! I have not seen that sitcom in years. I know that this was not a coincidence! Leah Ann was showing her humor again and letting me know she was happy. We serve a mighty God who brings comfort to us in many mysterious ways.
We love you Leah Ann!!!

Leah Ann has been my sister since she was 15 years old and joined the Goodwin bunch. She was always happy, smiling and funny. No one could be down when she was around. She loved everyone and had a beautiful soul and heart. She was very talented and had a great singing voice. I’m glad that I have a tape of her singing, so I will always be able to hear her voice.
She and my Dad were always joking around and called each other “Fred” and “Ester” from the show Sanford and Son. Over the years it became a habit and that’s what they called each other. Now that she’s with him again, I can see Ester and Fred back laughing and joking together.
She will always be loved and a part of us all.

Leah Ann , Flea, was a true friend, she was family along with her brother Kenny. We were young, barely teen agers when we met. Then instant besties! My sister and her brother were a couple and eventually married. Flea was my sister. We loved to sing together. For a few years we were inseparable. She was such a beautiful soul. Her laugh was contagious along with her smile. She was an animal lover...an amazing mother, best friends with her brother Kenny and his husband Archie...and all their dogs! She was devoted to and loved Ron. I am so heartbroken to know she is not with us anymore. Hunter and Holly I am so sad for your loss and I know you will both, with your loving families, continue to make her proud.

I was shocked last night when I heard of Leah Ann's passing. I can certainly see her giving socks and gloves and water to the less fortunate. She also had a great sense of humor and was always smiling. I worked with her for a number of years, once when she was very young until she had Holly and than again at a later date. I believe she could find humor in anything. One time when someone came for a job interview she said" walk this way" bent over at the waist and put her pen in her mouth like a cigar and did her best impression of Groucho Marx. Which was hilarious. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
