Leo Harris, born October 12, 1921, passed away Thursday night, October 1, 2020 at the age of 98 years, eleven days before his 99th birthday.
He was a WWII Veteran, having served in the United States Army Air Corps.
Leo retired from the Little Rock Police Department and the Little Rock Port Authority Rail Road. His favorite pastimes included reading his Bible, gardening, playing music and spending time with family and friends.
A true Southern, Christian Gentleman, he was well thought of and respected by all who knew him. He was a long time Deacon and member of Berea Baptist Church in North Little Rock.
Leo is preceded in death by his parents, Wilburn and Lula (Haggard) Harris; brothers Lester, twin brother Cleo, Ralph, Robert and Willie Junior (Bill) Harris; sisters Auda Martindale, Gaynelle Gray and Fayrene Harris. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary, son, David and great granddaughter, Maci.
Survivors include his younger brother, H.E. (Ed) Harris; son, Gene (Peggy) Harris; daughter-in-Law, Chris Harris; grandchildren Randy (Tracy) Harris, Paul Harris and Beth Harris; great grandsons Jordan and Caleb Harris; step-grandchildren John (Christina) Bibb and Michelle Bibb; five step-great grandchildren and two step great great- grands.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 6th in Rest Hills Memorial Park, 7724 Landers Road in North Little Rock. Rev. David Webb will officiate and the U. S. Army Honors Team will render military honors.
