Leonard Joseph Lamia, 70, of North Little Rock, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2020. He was born on June 5, 1949 in Ellsworth, Kansas to parents Jasper and Mary Lamia. He was of the Catholic faith. Leonard graduated high school in Kanopolis, Kansas and attended vo-tech school in Salina, Kansas and moved to Arkansas in 1973. In 1975 he met the love of his life, Vickie Gosnell, whom he married in 1979.
Leonard was owner of Auto Sports Center and co-owner of the The Speed Shop with Steve Haynes. Leonard shared his love and knowledge of automobiles with many young men who worked under his supervision and he guided them in developing a strong work ethic and values.
Leonard is survived by his wife, Vickie Lamia of North Little Rock; brother, Anthony Lamia (Diane) of Holyrood, Kansas; mother-in-law, Ludie Gosnell; sister-in-laws Wanda May (Kenneth Johnson), Robie Lewallen and Cindy Lamia; Uncle John Simanella; Aunts Rose Vaccaro and Anita Selvaggio; his best friend & buddy, Charlie and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many loyal friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Jasper Lamia and mother, Mary Simanella Lamia as well as her brother, Jimmy Lamia.
Due to the current COVID 19 situation, Leonard’s service will be a private family gathering; a memorial service celebrating Leonard’s life will be held at a later date when people can be together.
