Mrs. Lynda Lou Causey (Lynn) passed on May 5, 2026, at the age of 84. She was born on September 5, 1941, in Carlisle, Arkansas to the late Dwight and Maxine Martin. In addition to her parents, Lynda was preceded in death by her beloved of 53 years, Blanchard Causey; and daughter, Alyssa Burke.
After moving with her parents and siblings from Oklahoma and Kansas, the family settled in Arkansas. She graduated from North Little Rock High School in the spring of 1949. She then married her high school sweetheart, Blanchard Causey. Together they made their home in North Little Rock, Arkansas, and raised three daughters.
As a devoted homemaker, she cherished her role as a mother and wife, giving her days to the steady, loving work of caring for home and family. She also found joy in time away—traveling to Hot Springs, Branson, and the beautiful beaches of Florida—places that offered rest, laughter, and shared memories.
Lynn lived her faith with quiet constancy and sincere service. An active Christian in both Lakewood Methodist Church and Parkhill Christian Church, she taught Sunday School and Mother’s Day Out and served as a Stephen’s Minister for many years. She also enjoyed fellowship and community through the North Little Rock Junior League, PEO Organization, and Red Hat Ladies. In later years, she fell in love with horses and horse racing, and she and her husband spent precious time together in Hot Springs, Arkansas, “supporting” the racetrack.
Those left to cherish her memory include her two daughters, Daria (Art) Aldridge and Vicki Steadman; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Gerald (Lynn) Martin; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held at Park Hill Christian Church, 4400 John F Kennedy Blvd, North Little Rock, AR 72116 on May 11, 2026, at 10:00 am, followed by a Committal Service at Lonoke Cemetery, Kirk Ave, Lonoke, AR 72086, US, on May 11, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Lynda’s name to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention or the American Cancer Society. Or alternatively, head to the racetrack and place a bet on a longshot for Lynda.
