

Mary Jo Moore, 87, of Sherwood, was born on January 31, 1938, in Leslie, Arkansas. She peacefully passed from this life, into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father, on April 23rd, 2025, in her home of 56 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Moore of Sherwood, AR; parents, Don and Verda Wilson; brothers, Howard Wilson, Jimmy Wilson, Billy Wilson and Leroy Wilson.
Survivors include daughter, Gail Stephens and husband Darrell of Sherwood, AR; son, John D. Moore of Sherwood, AR; two granddaughters, Parker Rush of Little Rock, AR, and Reagan Cummings and husband Casey of Little Rock, AR; great-grandson, Jamie Cummings of Little Rock, AR; brother, Doyle Wilson and wife Ruth of Bee Branch, AR; two sisters, Janet Bruce of Clinton, AR, Sharon and husband John Bradford of Damascus, AR and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mary Jo was a member of Berea Baptist Church in Jacksonville, AR. During her 73 years of service to her Lord, she taught Sunday School and lovingly undergirded her husband in his calling as a Baptist minister. Together, being led by the Holy Spirit they shared the Gospel with many folks, in churches, nursing homes, shelters and peoples in far-off lands. She loved to volunteer at the Berea Baptist Caring Center, serving families in the Jacksonville, AR area. She also enjoyed filling Samaritan’s Purse Christmas boxes for children around the world. Mary Jo was a bookkeeper and served as Payroll Clerk for the City of Sherwood. Her pride and joy were her two granddaughters and great grandson.

The Pallbearers will be Benny Wilson, Mikel Wilson, Charlie Wilson, Don Bradford, Caden Cowsert and James Foster.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Mary Jo Moore will be at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills in Sherwood, AR, on Friday, May 2, 2025, with Bro. Don Wright officiating. Visitation will begin at 3:00 PM, followed by her service at 4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Samaritan’s Purse and/or Gideon’s International in memory of Mary Jo Moore are appreciated.
