Mary Margaret Power, age 67, a lifelong resident of Sherwood and North Little Rock, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2020. She was born to the late Paul H. Power and Eva Jane Rider Power on October 2, 1952.
Mary graduated from Sylvan Hills High School in 1970. She received her Master’s in Business Education from UCA in 1976. She began her teaching career at Ole Main High School in August of 1976. She retired from the high school after teaching there for 28 years in the Business and Accounting Department. After her retirement, Mary began teaching in the Business Department at Pulaski Tech. After a few years, Mary left to enjoy her retirement with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her older brother, Michael Power and her older sister, Paula Reed. Mary is survived by her younger brother, John M. Power; niece, Lydia Mae Power; nephew, John Paul Power and numerous other relatives and friends, all of whom she loved dearly.
Mary enjoyed cooking and was a great cook. She never came to your home with an empty dish. Any day of the week and on week-ends you would see Mary running, jogging, riding her bike or walking around the Lakewood lakes and other parts of the city. She was an avid fitness enthusiast. Whenever anyone told her that they loved her, she would always reply “I love you more”. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A graveside Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Rest Hills Memorial Park, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Pulaski County Humane Society or the charity of your choice.
