The world lost the best mother and a beloved wife, Mattie Lea Steube. Mattie battled with heart disease, but it never stopped her from giving out so much love. Mattie died in her home surrounded by her husband and daughter, Fred and Tanea.
Mattie was born in Bauxite, AR on February 16, 1945. She grew up in Hot Springs AR and graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1963, Mattie went on to nursing school, a career she was always passionate about, After graduation, she spent 51 years working as a LPN and taking care of people till retiring in 2016.
Mattie was predeceased by her parents, Mable and Louie Clift, her brothers, Clifford Clift, Bill Clift, Lloyd Clift and Bobby Clift and her sisters, Veta Newton, Margie Sue Lowry, Ima Jean Woods, Mary Bonnette. She is survived by her husband, Frederick Steube; daughter, Tanea Kieffer and her husband, Kris Kieffer; grandsons, Cole and Dane.
