Mr. Michael D Pojar

January 7, 1950November 9, 2020

Michael D. Pojar, Sr., age 70, of Sherwood passed away on November 9, 2020. He was known to family and friends as Michael, Mick, Dad, Pops, Grampa and Po. He was born in Norfolk, Nebraska to parents John Herman Pojar and Pearlie Perez Pojar.

Michael served his country in the U. S. Marine Corps. Michael married the love of his life, Sharon Digley Pojar at Petit Jean State Park in 1992 and together they created a loving family with three children that Michael loved above all else in his life.

He had a long career with Union Pacific Rail Road as a machinist. He lived an active and varied life and had many interests and hobbies. He loved fishing and shared that with his family and friends, loved the Nebraska Cornhuskers football games, shooting, treasure hunting, going to auctions, collecting war memorabilia, grilling on the Webber grill and spending summers at the lake with his family.

His children have special memories of fishing on the boat, trips to the Alligator Farm in Hot Springs, playing family games at Christmas – he always got excited when he played, eating candy and having Root Beer Floats or Red Cream Sodas. He loved the “Alexa” – the grandchildren recall spending several hours with him listening to the songs he loved; He couldn’t believe that Alexa would play the music he liked upon request or that he could talk to Alexa!

Above all else, Michael loved his wife, children, grandchildren and friends. He could always be counted on for Trick or Treating, fried turkeys at Thanksgiving, loud fireworks, cartoons, watching horror movies, strong hugs, playing Michael Jackson albums, strong hugs and pecks on the cheek.

He is preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Sharon Pojar of Sherwood; son, Jason Pojar (Stephanie) of Salem, N.H.; son, Michael Pojar, Jr. (Michelle) of Cabot; daughter-in-law, Ellisa McEuen (Mike) of Cabot; siblings Patty Chavez, Tim Pojar (Mary), Tammy Wright and Joe Kuti; grandchildren Ronnie Pojar, Paxton Pojar, Cescily Pojar, Peyton Pojar, Kasen McEuen, Riston McEuen, Morgan McEuen and Bailie McEuen along with many other family and friends.

Michael was a fun, loyal and sacrificial husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend; he was loved and cherished by all who knew him.

The Pojar family will hold a private gathering to celebrate Michael’s life at a later date at Rest Hills Memorial Park.

Pojar was a name I grew up with. All the stories my dad would tell me about his buddy. Sounds like they had their fair share of fun and trouble? After my dad Stanley Waymire passed. A few years passed but I still thought about those stories so I looked pojar up. He remember me! Made me swell with tears. He took time to stay in touch with me. His ❤ for family and friends was never-ending. I will miss u calling. But I know u have you're hands full with my dad up there. Good luck buddy. Love and miss u

I will remember Mike as always having a smile on his face, and his love for lifting weights. His cutoff sleeves was his main uniform at the Union Pacific shops where we all worked together as machinist's. He will be missed, but never forgotten. Rest in peace ✌.

I met Mike probably 18 years ago. He was such a good dude, full of honesty and integrity. Hard to believe he's gone at such a young age. Rest in peace.
