Owen Dwight Olbricht was born October 20, 1932 in Thayer, Missouri to Benjamin and Agnes Olbricht. He was their fourth and last child. Owen graduated from Harding University with a B.A. in speech. He also received the M.A. and M.R.E. degrees in Bible from Harding University Graduate School of Religion. In 1980 Harding honored him with the “Outstanding Alumnus” award in Bible.
Owen spent his life engaged in ministry. He worked in local ministry for churches in Arkansas, Missouri, and New Jersey. In 1964, he began working with Campaigns Northeast/Southeast in the US. These efforts have resulted in more than three hundred campaigns and three thousand baptisms. Altogether, Owen led evangelistic efforts in England, Ukraine, Russia, Canada, Mexico, Haiti, Jamaica, Venezuela, and in thirty states in the US.
Owen taught as an adjunct professor at Northeastern Christian Junior College and Harding University. Owen also wrote numerous books and resources for Bible study and for evangelistic purposes.
Owen is predeceased by his parents Benjamin and Agnes Olbricht; his sister, Nedra Olbricht McGill; his brothers, Tom Olbricht and Glenn Olbricht; and his nephew, Joseph Ray Olbricht. He is survived by his sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Tom) Olbricht and Kathryn (Glenn) Olbricht; many generations of cousins, nieces and nephews; and many friends, ministry partners, and ministry mentees.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 5th at 10:30 AM at the Sylvan Hills Church of Christ, 117 W. Maryland Ave., Sherwood, AR 72120.
