In the summer of 1960, a 12-year-old Pam Barnett, dressed in Girl Scout attire, was approached by a neighbor boy on a bicycle and asked if she wanted to go for a ride. Thankfully, from my perspective, she said yes. On that day, my parents cultivated a love that would last almost 40 years.
Through youth, school and even miles apart at times, the connection was always there. In February, 1969, they married. Donnie and Pam had two boys and loved and lived until Dad died in 1996. Mom lived the rest of her life honoring my father and cherishing her relationship with her grandchildren. She is Nana to some, Nina to others, sister, cousin, aunt and friend. She is my Mom.
Pamela Sue Huffman was born on November 28, 1949 and a little after noon on September 26, 2020, she was reunited with her love and her glory in paradise. Mom’s life and passion were her family and kids. Two sons, Kevin and David, four grandkids, Caty, Josh, Jodie, Noah and one great grandchild, Lily. Her little brother, Ronnie, older sister and brother, Donna and Bill, have been a rock in her life and continue to be so for all of us kids, cousins, nieces, nephews and really great friends too numerous to mention.
Pam will be laid to rest beside Donnie at Rest Hills Memorial Park. Her family will be holding a private Memorial service at a later date.
“My cup runneth over, surely goodness and mercy will follow me for the rest of my days, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
