Throughout her lifetime, she was active in community service. She was a member of the North Little Rock Junior League and served on the board of Lakewood United Methodist Church. Paula was also the first chairman of the North Little Rock History Commission and an active member of Bible Study Fellowship for many years. Outside of her civic interests, she enjoyed playing bridge, cooking, and sewing. If asked, she would say her greatest accomplishment was raising her three children.
