Phyllis was born on April 18, 1933, in Winona, Minnesota, to Robert and Leona Meinke. She lived a life marked by warmth, determination, and a genuine love for people.
Together with the love of her life, Sedric Allen Wirt, Phyllis worked tirelessly to build not only a beautiful life and family, but also a strong and lasting business in Wirt’s Jewelers. Their partnership was one of dedication, perseverance, and shared dreams — a legacy that continues today.
Phyllis was truly one of a kind. She was a sweet and friendly lady whose kindness made others feel instantly welcome. A true lady of fashion, she carried herself with grace and style, yet she was just as comfortable cheering at a race or baiting a fishing hook. Her charm, spirit, and versatility were part of what made her so deeply loved.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sedric Allen Wirt; her parents, Robert and Leona Meinke; her brother, Kenneth Meinke; and her honorary son, Jerry Mills.
Phyllis leaves behind her loving children, Cindy (Don) Rouse and Danny (Dorcas) Wirt; her cherished grandchildren, Nathan (Angela) House, Kelli (Lance) Mayfield, Hannah Wirt, Katie (Ben) Williams, Melissa (Jason) Rinehart, D.J. Daniel Head, and Stephen (Brandy) Head; five treasured great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will forever hold her memory close.
Phyllis will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her warmth, her strength, and the effortless way she made life brighter for those around her. Her legacy of love, grace, and resilience will continue through the family and business she helped build.
