Richard Douglas Cross was born in Little Rock on February 22, 1966, to Richard E. and Virginia Cross, with an older brother named David. Schools he attended were Trinity Episcopal, Henderson Jr. High, Parkview High School, and graduated from U of A Little Rock with his bachelor's in Business Science in 1989.
Rick was a natural athlete and had a college tennis scholarship. He was talented at most sports, and remaind so his entire life, even after his final FTD illness.
He worked at a variety of tech and industrial positions throughout his career, most notable as customer seervice for AT&T from 2004-2018. Richard was a professing Christian and a member at Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock, where he attended regularly until his final illness prevented him from normal activities.
Richard was still in mobile physical health when he was unexpectedly taken to be with the good Lord on Saturday morning, September 12, 2026. He is survived by three first cousins: Matt Ellis and family, Brett Ellis and family, and Lisa Thompson and family; as well as his step-dad and caregiver, Stephan Allsup.
His memorial service will be at Immanuel Baptist Church, Saturday at 1PM. He will be interred with his family at Rest Hills Cemetery in Sherwood, AR.
