He was born February 27, 1933, in Vilonia, to Lum Columbus Stell and Mary Ann Lusty Stell. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Gerald Patrick Stell, three sisters, Dora Mae McArthur, Annie Bell McArthur and Mary Lou Stell, and by three brothers, S. G. “Sammy” Stell, Melton Stell and Johnny Stell.
Robert was a member of Kellogg Valley Baptist Church. He retired from Tenenbaum Recycling Group. He was a supervisor and beloved by employees and management.
Robert was a communicator and friend to all members of his neighborhood. He loved his neighbors visiting with him, when he was having his morning walk, from his home to the Cherrywood Lake – sharing “good morning” as well as the great fish stories of the day and for sharing your catch with him. He was a caring person, especially loved waving and smiling at the children. The neighbors were very special to him which was a start to having a “great day” in spite of the illness of his beloved wife, Myrtle.
Robert is survived by his wife of 65 years, Myrtle R. Stell; a daughter, Debra Lynn Holmes of Sherwood; granddaughter, Jennifer Fox and husband Kenny; great-grandchildren, Brian Sikes, Rebecca Fox and Skye Fox, all of Somerset, Wisconsin, Opal Crider and Clara Mae Clark, both of Cross Roads, Arkansas; nieces, Paulette Thompson, Donna McElroy Jones, both of Sherwood.
Visitation will be Friday, October 12, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and funeral service on Saturday, October 13, at 10:30 a.m., both at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills in North Little Rock. Bro. Paul Rice will be officiating.
