

Ruby Faye Mitchell, age 72, passed away on Saturday, January 31st. Born in Menifee, Arkansas to parents James Harland Williams and Sarah Hooper Williams on January 15, 1943, she is predeceased by her parents and her husband, John Mitchell. Ruby is survived by her brother, J. F. Williams and his wife, Cheryl; sister, Nancy Williams and brother-in-law Hubert Mitchell and his wife, Doris; her nieces and nephews as well as her special friends Mikki Eubank and her family and Betty Ingram. Ruby was a long time member of the Lynch View Baptist Church in North Little Rock. Her passion was music – she loved to play the piano and sing, especially in her church choir where she served as a member for many years. She retired as Head Bookkeeper with the North Little Rock School District in 1997 after many years of service with the District . Ruby was also a member of the Red Hat Society. After moving to the Lakewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Ruby and Betty became board game buddies and played a game every afternoon at 2:00 after Betty came to Ruby’s room and towed her wheel chair to the game room. She will be greatly missed by all of those that knew her and loved her. In lieu of flowers , memorial donations may be made in honor of Ruby to North View Missionary Baptist Church (formerly Lynch View Baptist Church), 800 Page Mill Rd., N. Little Rock, AR 72117 or to Gentiva Hospice , 10800 Financial Centre Pkwy Ste 380, Little Rock, AR 72211. A visitation will be held at 1:00 PM , Wednesday, February 4th at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock with a Graveside Service following at 2:00 PM in Rest Hills Memorial Park located next to the funeral home.
