She was born August 21, 1942, in Woodward, Oklahoma, to Kenneth “Bus” Smith and Ruby Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, John Hannon.
Sue was a devout Christian who devoted her whole life to raising her children and serving her community. She lived her life with unwavering dedication to everything she did with all who knew her and lived by demonstrating what faith means. Sue Served in the Governor’s Press Office for The State of Arkansas approximately 15 years spanning Former President Bill Clinton and Former Arkansas Governor Jim Guy Tucker’s terms in office. She was a member of Xi Beta Theta Sorority for over 20 years serving as an officer in many different roles including President during her membership. Sue was also a small business owner in Lonoke, AR with her Merle Norman Cosmetics location before she retired. She was a member of The Church at Burns Park North Little Rock, AR.
She is survived by three sons, Jeffrey (Lynn Crump) Desbrow of Big Sandy, Tennessee, Tim (Becky) Desbrow and Greg (Caron) Culvey, all of Sherwood; sister, Sandy (Larry) Estep of Oklahoma City; two grandchildren, Tyler (Stacie) Desbrow of North Little Rock and Quinndy Johnson of Michigan; five great-grandchildren, Calib, Callie, Maddox, Kody and Lola; several nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog “Bobo”.
Visitation will be Friday, June 21, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills in North Little Rock. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 22, at 2:00 p.m. at Rest Hills Memorial Park pavilion.
